Most of us don't trust God can do more with six days than we can do with seven. But he can, and he will.
Sabbath is a day to focus on The Lord and on rest. Sabbath puts back in what the world has been stealing all week long.
The same way sabbath gives back, we take more away than a day of rest when we choose to ignore sabbath. Now instead of resting from six days, we skip rest, and stack seven days onto the next seven onto the next seven.
The wear and tear becomes exponential. It's not that we didn't take one day of rest. It's that we have worked for 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 days on top of each other when we were never meant to work more than six in a row.
If sabbath enriches, ignoring sabbath depletes.
Think of all the other enriching nutrients you put into your soil. Now consider how they are negated by ignoring sabbath.
Allow enriching to do its work as you rest.
